THE FUTURE OF WORK

INTRO TO CUBESATS

ONLINE TRAINING COURSE

JUNE 14 - 17, 2021, 0900 - 1200 PDT DAILY

This is a limited-enrollment, live and interactive program. Intro to CubeSats is a virtual course for professionals and university students who are interested in CubeSat development. Learning objectives are designed from a space systems engineering perspective with a focus on tangible skills development. This interactive workshop is led by Cal Poly Professor Pauline Faure. The Cal Poly CubeSat Lab (CPCL) co-developed the first handheld satellite, known as a CubeSat,  in 1995. These satellites have revolutionized the space industry and today they are an industry standard. CPCL has launched 25 student-built satellites to date.

TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:

  • General understanding of a CubeSat’s parts and functions

  • Introduction to CubeSat design trades

  • Systems engineering processes

  • Basic knowledge of CubeSat testing

AFTER THIS WORKSHOP YOU WILL HAVE THE SKILLS TO START:

  • Choosing the correct components for your mission

  • Performing trade studies for hardware, software and launch

  • Reviewing, understanding, and creating testing and flight requirements

  • Applying  for satellite licensing

This course is specially adapted from CPCL’s 2-day training course to offer broader access to the space community.

This interactive course is limited to 75 attendees
